Saperion Storage Management

Unlike many other solutions on the market, you do not need to purchase a 3rd party storage management system and integrate it with Saperion.

Saperion includes a very sophisticated, secure, scalable, and high-performance storage management component called the Document Server. It manages the storage and retrieval of objects from either optical jukeboxes or magnetic storage e.g. RAID or SAN. This integrated module connects directly with SCSI jukeboxes with no need for any 3rd party drivers or additional software components. This not only cuts costs, but also provides quicker deployment time and a fully reliable interface between the storage server and the various modules.

SAPERION supports the storage of data on all common storage media including optical storage media (MO, WORM). Placement strategies allow you to specify which media should be used for storing different types of documents - This has advantages in many applications including Retention Management and Security.

Data Mirroring maintains backup copies of the storage media. It is also possible to setup a real-time mirroring storage server (e.g. jukebox) in a different location which will act as a backup for the stored data and help minimize down time. If the primary jukebox fails, Saperion automatically switches to use the mirrored jukebox to continue serving client requests and provide uninterrupted service to its users.

Complete disaster recovery can be done from the storage media at any time to reconstruct the administrative information and the index databases, including the database table information, archived objects, and all revisions. A very large Cache may be defined (upto 1.5 TB per Document Server) which optimizes multiple requests to read or write objects. Multithreading allows reading from, and writing to multiple drives and storage repositories at the same time.

Scalability: While a departmental or small business solution might use one storage repository in one location, a larger enterprise might need multiple repositories. Saperion advanced multi-tier architecture allows a solution to be scaled up on demand. Multiple office locations around the world may have a storage repository or only a Caching server which optimizes and improves performance.
