New key functions and tightly
integrated
standard applications increase the
usability.
Technical Superiority of
DocFlow
The DocFlow function in the
release 5.0
is based on the creation of fully
integrated document-based workflows,
which are simple to use, install and
configure. This functionality simplifies
typical business processes, for
example, document signing and
forwarding or reminding functions.
DocFlow Designer
The DocFlow
Designer allows you to
generate typical routine processes and
to depict standard processes using
graphics. DocFlow is a simple to use
standard solution for the optimization of
everyday business processes. The new
DocFlow Server works through automatic
procedures in the background.
One special advantage of
the DocFlow
solution is that compared with the
classic workflow systems from other
developers, standard situations can be
depicted within the framework of
complete solutions for document and
knowledge management. This is
achieved without making the entire
system more complex.
At the same time all documents
have
the advantages of archived documents
from the very start as well as the
corresponding revision security.
Linux and Sun Solaris
Another
new feature in SAPERION® 5.0
is the standard support of Linux and
Sun Solaris system platforms. The
server support of the system platforms
enables a considerable increase in
performance. This is a great improvement
especially for large companies
with high numbers of users.
SAPERION® InterServer
The
SAPERION® InterServer option
provides a convenient means to import
data to SAPERION® from any external
archive. This functionality is especially
recommended if SAPERION® is used
as the document management system
while using a third party product as
archive for data that has been
accumulated in the past.
Mobile Client
The mobile client
option allows the
transfer of a selectable client license to
an offline workstation, including
selectable document that can be edited
or created.
MS Office Interface
This module
connects Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook to the
SAPERION® DMS.
XML
The decisive advantage
of XML is that
XML is the global standard format for
saving data with any data structure
complexity. Through the use of XML the
actual data (content) is separated from
its presentation, allowing for greater
data security particularly for systems
with long-term use.
SAPERION® has thus taken
an
essential step towards securing the
future of your software architecture by
means of standardization, for example,
portal solutions in conjunction with the
SAPERION® DMS.
 Support of KM tools and Verity
Through the integration
of KM tools, e.g.
Autonomy, it is possible to automate
business processes, which are based
on unstructured data. This includes
categorization, linking, personalization
and provision of information.
SAPERION® offers you extended
search options in addition to intelligent
form recognition and classification of
documents.
Creating personal profiles
also allows
adaptation to users’ own individual
needs. Define agents which automatically
notify you about specific information
and data.
In addition to its existing
retrieval
functionalities, SAPERION®’s use of
Verity Full-Text database offers an
extremely powerful option for refined
searches of any document type and
contents within the SAPERION® DMS.
Increased Fail-Safeness while allowing
High Availability to Users
The security of your data
is further
increased while at the same time the
availability of your data to users is
extremely high due to the enterprisewide
knowledge platform. Additional
measures include:
- Clients automatically
switch to the
next document server should a
document server fail.
- One server can support
multiple
jukeboxes.
- Remote administration
via MS
Management Console.
Improved Administration and
User
Management
The range of administration
functions
using the Microsoft Management
Console has been expanded. For
example, additional servers can be
defined and managed using the MMC
like the ODBC connections and archive
protocols. The extended user
management also allows expiry dates
for passwords and memberships to be
introduced.
Folder Procedures/Links
We
have substantially expanded the
folder management and document
structure management and made them
programmable (e.g. for internal folder
procedures and access authorization).
You can now manage links
to other
documents across tables and archives.

interface: Extensive
expansion

- Lotus
Notes Bridge Server:
This
new server can be used to archive
all Lotus Notes document types in
SAPERION®.
- Lotus
Domino.Doc Interface:
This
additional option integrates the
archiving and searching of Lotus
Domino.Doc documents in the Lotus
Notes environment.
- New
HTML Gateway Server:
Now
also available in “multi-threaded”
operation.
- MS
Exchange Server Gateway:
Integration of MS Exchange Server
New User Interface SAPERION®
sports a new, modern user
interface making the use even easier.
